Get Your Home Ready for Vacation

Spring Break season is upon us and Hoosiers across the state are planning to head south for a much-needed break. If you have started planning your spring vacation, you know there’s a lot to do before you leave to make it a successful trip. However, the team at Christina’s Complete Clean wants to remind you that there is also a lot to do to ensure your arrival back home is smooth. We’ve put together this cleaning list because nothing bursts a vacation bubble like coming home to a dirty and disorganized home.

Laundry

We know, laundry can be a daunting task and if you have small children, you may fee like the pile never ends. However, leaving dirty laundry laying around for a week while you're away can get smelly and even mildewed fast!

• Bedsheets - Strip all the family beds and wash the sheets a day or two before you leave. Your sheets won't be perfectly clean when you arrive back home, but they'll still be fresh and welcoming.
• Clothes - Take the week leading up to the trip to get all of the family laundry washed, dried, and put away.
• Towels - Bathroom towels can easily get mildewed if left for a week. Wash all the towels that aren't being used, and if you use towels the morning you leave, be sure to hang them up to dry properly.

Kitchen

After a week of relaxation, you're not going to want to come home to moldy plates in the sink, so be sure to do all of your dishes before you leave. Additionally, it's a good idea to clean out the fridge and take out the trash.

General Tidying

Finally, it's not necessary to completely deep clean your home before you leave, but a quick tidy is a good idea. Dust and vacuum common areas and bedrooms, tidy up any toys or books laying around, and dust all surfaces. Leaving your home clean and organized will make your life much easier when you arrive back home.
