4 Tips for a Clean Home This Holiday Season

With the holiday season upon us, there is so much to do! Baking, decorating, and shopping are at the top of the list, but a clean home for holiday hosting also is essential. At Christina’s Complete Clean, we created a list of our top tips to get your home ready for the holidays.

1. Declutter

While the holidays are a time of joy and generosity, they also bring stress for those who like a neat and tidy space.  Receiving gifts can cause sweaty palms if your closet, pantry, and toy room are already bursting at the seams. To minimize this stress, take time before the season begins to declutter your home and get organized. Throw away damaged or outdated items, and donate gently used items to a worthy recipient or charity. Your clutter just might make someone else’s holiday extra special.

2. Deep Clean the Kitchen

The kitchen is the natural gathering place in most homes and therefore deserves extra attention. Start from the top down, cleaning all surfaces and appliances to remove dust, grease, and crumbs. Don’t forget to take care of the refrigerator, removing outdated leftovers and deep cleaning dirty storage bins and shelves. Give your floors and baseboards a good scrub too, first taking care to vacuum up the dust bunnies that like to hide under major appliances.

3. Tidy the Guest Room

Guest rooms should feel warm, inviting, and cozy. To make a good impression, make sure to properly dust and vacuum the room and launder all linens before your guests arrive. And if your guest room is a catch-all during the rest of the year, make sure to remove and organize all clutter to give your guests ample space to relax. A few warm touches, like adding some reading material, fresh towels, and extra blankets, go a long way toward making your guests feel right at home.

4. Call for Backup

If you feel behind the eight ball this holiday season, our team at Christina’s is here to help. We have been providing residential cleaning services in the Carmel, IN, area since 2006, and we know that nothing beats a bucket, mop, and some serious elbow grease. Christina’s also offers home organization services to get your closets, pantries, and garages in tip-top shape before guests arrive. If you need help getting your home ready for the holidays, request a quote or call (317) 564-4244 to get started. We will have your home sparkling in no time.
